Minimum Qualifications Candidates must be reachable for appointment on the current Civil Service Eligible List, Professional Careers Opportunity (PCO) or OPWDD’s Central Office Public Administration Traineeship Transition (PATT). Appointment will be made at the traineeship level.
OR
Candidates must have one year of permanent competitive or 55-b/c status in the posted title and be eligible for lateral transfer; OR be eligible to transfer via Section (i.e. 70.1, 52.6) of Civil Service Law. The transfer cannot be a second consecutive transfer resulting in an advancement of more than two salary grades.
Duties Description As a member of OPWDD’s Division of Data Strategy and Management (DSM), responsibilities of the Senior Administrative Analyst may include, but are not limited to, the following:
• Serve as high level administrative support for the Deputy Commissioner who oversees the Division of Data Management and Strategy with solid organizational skills and ability to adapt to changing priorities.
• Responsible for the creation, editing and vetting of high-level documents that range from correspondence materials to complex excel spreadsheets while showing exceptional communication skills and suitable judgement to proficiently manage priorities and continue workflow throughout the division.
• Determine appropriate action and/or follow up, serving as a representative for the Division’s senior management with the ability to carry out appropriate verbal, written and face-to-face communications with, and on behalf of, those individuals.
• Provide administrative support for the division and each of its units: Bureau of Population Health, Bureau of Medicaid Data Reporting and Analysis and, and the Bureau of Information Systems Management.
• Exercise superior judgment and problem-solving skills, anticipate and act on the needs of the division and take initiative in analyzing, designing and/or implementing necessary changes to standard procedures.
• Oversee the maintenance of various electronic files, policies/procedures, databases, materials, supplies and/or equipment while analyzing and assessing the need for alterations or updates.
• Compose correspondence, charts, graphs, and presentations, including supporting materials if necessary
• Organize and manage projects with limited instruction/supervision including planning, coordinating, executing, and providing updates regarding the status of work and identify new opportunities for efficient processes.
