Minimum Qualifications MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

70.1 TRANSFER QUALIFICATIONS: One year of permanent, contingent-permanent, or 55b/c service as a Salary Grade 16 or higher determined to be similar by Civil Service.

PHYSICAL/MEDICAL REQUIREMENTS: A medical examination will be required prior to appointment and you are responsible for payment of the clinical laboratory test fee. You may be required to have your physical and medical conditions evaluated annually to ensure that you are able to satisfactorily perform the duties of the position with or without reasonable
accommodations.
FINGERPRINTING/BACKGROUND CHECK: Some positions may require a fingerprint/background check. If the position you applied for requires fingerprinting, you will be advised at the time of your interview. There is no cost to candidates, fingerprinting fees are paid for by the Department of Labor. Duties Description STANDARD DUTIES:
As a Senior Safety and Health Inspector in the Division of Safety and Health the incumbent will, under the general supervision of a Supervising Safety and Health Inspector or an Associate Industrial Hygienist, schedule and conduct safety and health inspections to determine compliance with established standards and regulations. This position will also ensure that reports are issued to employers/complainants in a timely manner and ensure that worksites are surveyed promptly to prevent more worksite injuries.

Appointment will be permanent/contingent permanent if filled via transfer, otherwise the appointment will be provisional.
NOTE: As this position requires travel, the appointee must have a valid license to operate a motor vehicle in New York State and have a motor vehicle or otherwise demonstrate their capacity to meet the transportation needs of the position.
