Minimum Qualifications • Bachelor’s degree and two years of relevant experience.*
• Bachelor’s degree in graphic design or visual art communication preferred.
• Two years of experience providing graphic design for promotional materials and website content.
• Experience using Microsoft Office Suite (including PowerPoint), Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop, and Illustrator), and video development tools (such as Storyblocks, Biteable, or other).
• Experience developing websites using accessibility and usability best practices (Drupal platform preferred).
• Experience providing graphic design support for in-person and webinar training materials.
• Ability to effectively manage multiple assignments simultaneously to meet deadlines.
• Experience using project management software to coordinate work preferred.
• A satisfactory equivalent combination of appropriate experience and education as determined by the NYS Office of Employee Relations.
*Substitutions: four years of specialized experience or associate’s degree and two years of specialized experience may substitute for bachelor’s degree; J.D. or master’s degree may substitute for one year of specialized experience; Ph.D. may substitute for two years of specialized experience.
Duties Description The role of the Employee Relations Assistant (Program Assistant for Multimedia Production) is key to ensuring the Partnership’s success as a critical workforce development resource for New York State agencies and their CSEA-represented employees. The Employee Relations Assistant designs and produces educational and promotional materials in support of Partnership programs and services. This includes support for graphic design of educational curricula, online learning, marketing materials, and web design.
Duties include but are not limited to:
Marketing and Communications
• Assist Program Manager for Communications in the design and creation of promotional materials.
• Design and develop creative assets for print, digital, social, video, and more.
• Work with program staff to create visual concepts to communicate key technical information to a diverse audience.
• Establish and maintain a consistent brand identity for the organization.
Website Design and Management
• Design and create web-based materials.
• Support the development and implementation of Partnership initiatives through accessible and highly functional web design.
• Conduct testing of web-based applications or online program changes to improve usability of multimedia and website.
• Serve as the liaison to WebNY on matters related to maintenance and functionality of website.
• Track website activity, including most frequently visited pages and downloaded materials.
• Maintain Partnership YouTube channel.
Curriculum Development
• Provide graphic design support for classroom and web-based content including participant guides, job aids, PowerPoint slides, and other educational resources.
• Support the development of educational and training material that is current, relevant to participants, and based on research, benchmarks, and best practices in the field of adult education and training.
• Ensure curricular materials and graphic elements are copyright compliant.
