Minimum Qualifications To be considered for permanent appointment, candidates must be reachable on the current Civil Service eligible list or be eligible for reassignment or transfer in accordance with Civil Service law.

Duties Description Duties include, but are not limited to:

•Perform analyses and audits of regulatory violations, preparing supporting documentation, and conducting phone interviews, as well as recommending civil enforcement action
•Assist with the Innovative Technology Deployment initiatives, collaborating with program managers in the planning and deployment of smart roadside technologies and assisting with training of inspectors and investigators
•Facilitate data exchanges with internal program areas and outside agencies, and research and test highway safety and commercial vehicle inspection technologies, in collaboration with the commercial vehicle inspection program
•Assist with statewide transportation plans, systems, policies, and reports, including those associated with federal grant initiatives and funding
•Support additional ad-hoc functions within the Office of Modal Safety and Security
•May supervise clerical, technical, and/or support staff

Responsibilities may include serving a role within the Incident Command System to support the department’s response to regional and statewide emergency situations.

Additional Comments *Telecommuting: The Department’s current telecommuting agreement is valid through December 31, 2022 and is subject to extension beyond that date.
