Minimum Qualifications To be considered for permanent appointment, candidates must be reachable on the current Civil Service eligible list or be eligible for reassignment or transfer in accordance with Civil Service Law.

Duties Description Under the direction of the Chief Engineer, the incumbent will perform professional and administrative duties in support of the Department. Duties include, but are not limited to the following:

• Functions as the administrative liaison for the Engineering Division with the Regional offices, Personnel Bureau, Employee Relations, TBB, Payroll, Facilities Management, as well as with other Department Divisions. In doing so; responsibilities also include advising program components and staff, in both MO and the Regions, of applicable Civil Service and Department laws, rules regulations, policies, procedures and guidelines regarding time and attendance, employee relations issues, compensation, employee benefits, and similar personnel related matters.
• Provides support in hiring/promotions by obtaining and reviewing credentials, references, and other documentation to support transactions and decisions.
• Monitors and tracks Probation Reports and Performance Programs for MO Staff.
• Arranges for special training in response to management, program, and staff needs.
• Manages the Office's space allocation and prepares space utilization plans.
• Coordinate and manage Engineering Division's conferences/events to include travel.
• Manages Information Technology Support with ITS for Engineering Division Executives.
• Manages central files, printing, inventory, mail and other support operations.
• Develops and implements record-keeping systems and controls.
• Assures that all office equipment is properly installed and operating and arranges for vendor repairs and replacements.
• Coordinates and manages the purchase of office equipment, supplies, goods and services.
• Oversees Chief Engineer's Schedule and support all meetings and travel.
• Supports Engineering Division Executives on day to day job functions.

Responsibilities may include serving a role within the Incident Command System to support the department’s response to regional and statewide emergency situations.

Additional Comments *Telecommuting: The Department’s current telecommuting agreement is valid through December 31, 2022 and is subject to extension beyond that date.
