Minimum Qualifications Eligible for transfer or meet the following qualifications for temporary appointment:

1. Possession of a certificate of completion of a two-year course/degree in court reporting or verbatim reporting from a nationally or regionally accredited school or institution or
One recognized by the New York State Education Department (you will be required to furnish a copy at the time of application);
-or-
2. Two years of satisfactory experience in general verbatim reporting;
-or-
3. Possession of documentation confirming proficiency of at least 180 words per minute from a nationally or regionally accredited school or institution or one recognized by the New York State Education Department. (You will be required to furnish a copy at the time of the application.)

Examples of qualifying court reporting experience include:
-supreme, federal, county, city, grand jury, and town justice
-general court reporting (examination before trial), depositions, meetings, and public hearings
-real-time court reporting
-computer aided transcription (case catalyst)
-reporting and transcribing of medical testimony)
-reporting and transcribing workers' compensation board depositions

Duties Description To be discussed at time of interview. Travel is 50%. There are two vacancies open.

Position is temporary for three months due to application being rated/considered for permanent service.
