Minimum Qualifications VOCATIONAL INSTRUCTOR 1 (Business and Distributive Education)/SG-12: A bachelor’s degree and 30 semester credit hours in Business Marketing.
VOCATIONAL INSTRUCTOR 2 (Business and Distributive Education/SG-13: Current New York State Education Department provisional/initial certification in classroom teaching in the appropriate specialty.
VOCATIONAL INSTRUCTOR 3 (Business and Distributive Education/SG-15: Current New York State Education Department permanent/professional certification in classroom teaching in the appropriate specialty.
VOCATIONAL INSTRUCTOR 4 (Business and Distributive Education/SG-17: Current New York State Education Department permanent/professional certification in classroom teaching in the appropriate specialty and two years of post-certification (provisional/initial or permanent/professional) teaching experience in that same specialty.

Duties Description Instruct a course in a vocational specialty as recognized by the New York State Department of Education. Preparation of Modified Course Outlines. Prepare daily or weekly lesson plans. Conduct a schedule of instruction and demonstration for learners. Supervise practical application of formal instruction. Devise methods and evaluations of the performance of and progress of learners.
