Duties Description The Office of Parks, Recreation and Historic Preservation (OPRHP) has an exciting opportunity for a seasoned communications professional. The Public Affairs Bureau carries out strategic communications and marketing for the state park system of 250 individual parks, historic sites, golf courses, trails, and marinas as well as the 750-mile Empire State Trail. In addition, the agency oversees the Division for Historic Preservation, State Park Police, state grant programs, and safe boating and snowmobiling programs. The bureau’s responsibilities include media relations, community affairs, agency website updates, social and digital media, graphic arts, and marketing. As the Deputy Public Information Officer, you will be involved in all aspects of bureau operations and will support the Public Information Officer in managing the bureau.

OPRHP is experiencing transformational change in capital investment, in programming offered to visitors, and in staffing.
