Reachable for appointment on current Civil Service eligible list used for filling this title; or, one year of permanent competitive class service in an Administrative title eligible for transfer under Section 52.6 of the Civil Service Law; or, one year of permanent competitive class service in a title approved by the Department of Civil Service for transfer under Section 70.1 of the Civil Service Law such as Call Center Quality Assurance Specialist 1 or Supervising Computer Operator.
Duties Description Ensures NYSIF establishes and maintains appropriate controls and management, as well as effective security methodologies and processes based on NYS laws, regulations and the NIST framework. Conducts security assessments of third-party service providers to ensure they meet NYSIF’s requirements. Ensure awareness and compliance. Conducts security awareness training for NYSIF users. Identifies need for changes based on new security technologies or threats. Conducts risk and privacy assessments of systems and processes to identify vulnerability, risks and protection needs of activities. Provides technical advice and guidance to Management and other technical specialists on significant information security problems and issues. Ensures integration of security programs with other IT programs and services in NYSIF. Works with other security team members to augment their role and advise on issues.
