Minimum Qualifications Education Level required: Bachelor’s Degree in Real Estate and/or relevant area. Masters preferred.
Experience required: 8-10 years relevant Real estate experience.

Knowledge/skills: Excellent communication skills and a talent for utilizing diplomacy to manage relationships. An entrepreneurial spirit: willingness to take ‘ownership’ to maximize performance of assets on behalf of ESD and the public. Ability to work under pressure against tight deadlines.

Duties Description BASIC FUNCTION:
Oversee and advance Empire State Development’s (ESD) interests in and management of its real estate holdings across New York State. Most notably, lead the management of ESD’s assets and initiatives at Moynihan Train Hall. Serve as a steward of ESD and Moynihan Train Hall to identify and advance opportunities to for revenue and non-revenue generating initiatives, including developing effective commercial and civic partnerships with other members of the facility’s stakeholder board, further developing and implementing the brand identity and placemaking strategy for the train hall, and overseeing the financial management of the train hall. ESD seeks a highly motivated, entrepreneurial individual with excellent relationship building and communication skills.


WORK PERFORMED:
• Oversee management of ESD’s varied property portfolio. Includes development of effective online inventory; oversight of property revenues and PILOTs; and compliance with internal and statutory property ownership requirements. Develop and maintain relationships with property partners and jurisdictions; ex. for the High Line Connector project Friends of the High Line and NYC DPR are active partners.
• Represent ESD on Moynihan Train Hall’s controlling Condominium Board. Includes coordination with Amtrak, MTA/Long Island Railroad, Vornado Realty Trust, and the property manager Cushman & Wakefield relating to property management and financial matters within the condominium to ensure that Moynihan Train Hall remains in first-class condition and continues to grow into one of the City’s premier public spaces.
• Direct brand strategy and public identity of Moynihan Train Hall, including cultural and civic programming, world-class art initiatives, and advertising program within building.
• Work in partnership with ESD’s third-party advertising concessionaire, Madison Square Garden Entertainment, to develop appropriate marketing strategy for high-profile promotional signage network, review third-party deals and content, monitor financial performance, and enhance sales of exclusive advertising and sponsorship rights.
• Working in conjunction with Cushman & Wakefield, ensure effective operation of ESD’s state-of-the-art digital and static signage network, including oversight of O&M contractors, long-term capital planning, and the ongoing production of high-quality informational and experiential content and programming across the platform.
• Protect ESD’s intellectual property (IP) and provide appropriate stewardship for ESD’s ongoing Train Hall public relations and media channels, including official MTH website, MTH social media accounts, and interactive information kiosks.



• Manage strategic partnerships, community relationships and business partner relationships to enhance this iconic, high-traffic public facility.
• Represent ESD and MTH in media relations concerning Moynihan Train Hall, including partnership with the ESD Press Office on news media and editorial inquiries about MTH and industry events and panel discussions. Develop relationships with Amtrak, MTA/LIRR and Vornado marketing and communications teams to stay abreast of Condo Board partner PR and marketing initiatives in effort to align public perception of the MTH brand.
