Minimum Qualifications Current NYS Department of Health employee with permanent or contingent-permanent, competitive status as a Health Program Administrator 2, G-25 OR a NYS employee with one year or more of permanent or contingent-permanent, competitive service in a title at or above G-23 and deemed eligible for transfer under Section 70.1 or Section 52.6 of the NYS Civil Service Law.
Preferred Qualifications: The preferred candidate will have significant experience in the management of public health programs with knowledge of vaccines. The preferred candidate will demonstrate a strong understanding of state government management processes, including fiscal and legislative. Strong communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to work independently and as part of a management team; ability to organize and prioritize numerous ongoing projects in a fast-paced office. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, SharePoint, data and grant management systems. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Duties Description The Health Program Administrator 2, within the Bureau of Immunization’s Vaccine Program team, will perform program management and policy development activities for the Vaccines for Adults (VFA), Vaccines for Children (VFC) and COVID-19 programs. This includes oversight of adult and pediatric immunization outreach projects, oversight and implementation of procedures ensuring compliance with patient eligibility screening and documentation requirements, quality assurance of provider registration and renewal process, managing expansion of vaccines offered under the VFA program, tracking vaccine spend levels, coordinating provider training, managing response to reports of out-of-range temperatures in vaccine storage units, and staff supervision. The HPA 2 will monitor vaccine spend plan, track portions of federal grant deliverables and ensure compliance of reporting requirements. The HPA 2 will use multiple state and federal information systems to review and track immunization activities.

Full-time, contingent-permanent. Occasional travel, including to areas that may not be served by public transportation may be required (20%).
