Minimum Qualifications In order to be considered for permanent appointment, candidates must be reachable on the current Civil Service eligible list or be eligible for reassignment or transfer in accordance with Civil Service Law.

Duties Description The candidate in this position will provide administrative and staff support for the Rail Projects Group located in the Office of Design.
The Rail Projects Group is responsible for the development and delivery of New York's High Speed Intercity Passenger Rail (HSIPR) projects and focused on improving passenger rail service on the Empire Corridor. The Rail Group maintains good communication and working relationships with the Federal Railroad Administration, Amtrak, CSXT, and other railroads. The Rail Group is also responsible for coordinating with the railroads on highway projects which includes the development and management of railroad force account agreements, providing expertise on rail related issues, and to coordinate railroad support activities.
Duties for this position may include, but are not limited to the following:
• Document management, organizing, filing, storing and scanning documents
• Proofreading, reviewing, and correcting correspondence, documents, records, and other written materials
• Scheduling meetings and conference calls, recording meeting summaries
• Assist in gathering and compiling data for reports, graphs, charts, and tables
• Report submissions and assisting with project reporting requirements
• Other duties as assigned
Responsibilities may include serving a role within the Incident Command System to support the department’s response to regional and statewide emergency situations.
Additional Comments *Telecommuting: The Department’s current telecommuting agreement is valid through December 31, 2022 and is subject to extension beyond that date.
