Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or related field
One to three years of professional or educational related experience
Capital asset management, development and/or implementation of web-based applications experience
Ability to effectively communicate with various levels of management, campuses and other agencies
Working knowledge of financial accounting and reporting standards
Ability to work independently and collaboratively
Experience and ability of managing large sets of data
Able to manage multiple priorities effectively with strong organizational skills

Duties Description System Administration is seeking a Capital Asset Accountant. This role assists various campuses with capital assets and the reconciliation of capital asset activity within the State University Fixed Asset Account System (SFAAS) and Real Asset Management Equipment System (RAM). The incumbent will oversee and maintain recordkeeping for campus Capital Projects and is responsible for overseeing surplus of Equipment and Motorized Vehicles.

Duties and responsibilities include:

Assist in gathering data for Lease Application implementation (GASB)
Monitor and report Construction in Progress for capital program activity
Assist with the development of software packages for reporting of capital assets and capital leases
Communicate with University campus personnel and committees, System Administration offices, and external New York State agencies related to capital reporting
Provide oversight and communicate updates regarding U-Wide Equipment DB Real Asset Management (RAM) application
Maintain accurate financial records for the preparation of the annual financial statements
Prepare various financial reports requested by State University management
Oversee reporting processes and assist with training campus community
Assist with data collection and reporting of University's Construction Projects on a quarterly and year end basis
Record fixed asset acquisitions and dispositions with associated depreciation
Serve as the liaison between SUNY Campuses and OGS (Office of General Services) Surplus for all related matters
Serve as the liaison between Research Foundation, Construction Fund and SUNY Campuses for all Capital Asset Reporting

Additional Comments Salary: Starting at $56,000. Excellent Benefit Package which includes; NYS health insurance, free dental and vision, competitive retirement options, tuition assistance and generous vacation, sick and holiday accruals.
