Salary RangeFrom $105500 to $133319 Annually
Minimum Qualifications 52.6 TRANSFER QUALIFICATIONS:
One year of permanent, contingent permanent, or 55 B/C service allocated to a Grade 28 or higher eligible for transfer and determined to be administrative by Civil Service.
Some titles eligible for transfer require special qualifications, if applicable the special qualifications are: Admission to the NYS Bar.
For transfers, a list of approved titles is available through Civil Service GOT-IT at https://careermobilityoffice.cs.ny.gov/cmo/gotit/. The GOT-IT site will inform you if your title requires special qualifications for 52.6 or 70.1 transfer as detailed above.
55 B/C QUALIFICATIONS:
Current permanent non-competitive state employees certified eligible for the 55 B/C program under the Governor's Program to Hire Persons/Veterans with Disabilities pursuant to Section 55 B/C of the Civil Service Law will also be considered. To be considered, you must provide a copy of your letter of eligibility with your response.
Duties Description The Associate Attorney duties will include but are not limited to the following:
• Provide legal assistance and support to Authorities Budget Office (ABO) and the Director of ABO.
• Prepare legal cases for which there is little precedent and/or which have a major impact on the ABO’s mission and program.
• Analyze legal opinions; briefs and other material; prepare memoranda of law; and confer with administrators or outside parties to legal action to mediate, negotiate, or settle legal issues related to the ABO’s mission and programs.
• Draft and review responses to public authorities, which may include guidance, recommendations, and reports on behalf of the ABO.
• Evaluate bills introduced in the legislature, for their impact on the ABO and public authorities.
• Prepare proposed legislation including supporting memorandum.
