Salary RangeFrom $18.03 to $25.99 Hourly
Minimum Qualifications Candidates must have two years of experience operating and maintaining a motorized vessel. This experience must include a minimum of one year operating a motorized vessel that is 26 feet or longer AND a minimum of one year maintaining and repairing mechanical and/or hydraulic equipment.
Substitution: Certificate of completion from a BOCES or post high school program in mechanical, automotive, or diesel repair or technology may substitute for up to six months of experience.
Employees must possess a valid driver’s license to operate a motor vehicle in NYS at the time of appointment & continuously maintain it thereafter or face possible disciplinary action up to & including termination.
Duties Description Operates, maintains and repairs a self-propelled scow including its propulsion unit, hoist, compressor and pumps; removes trees and debris from the channel; places and sets buoys; transports personnel, materials and equipment to work sites; pushes or tows scows, barges, dredges and derrick boats to the work site; performs related maintenance duties as necessary; may be required to perform similar duties as the operator of a tender when necessary.
