Duties Description The Clinical Laboratory Evaluation Program (CLEP) is a regulatory program responsible for the oversight of clinical laboratories, blood banks, patient service centers and limited service laboratories located in or accepting specimens from NYS. An office assistant 2 is needed to maintain daily operations in the CLEP. The incumbent will process incoming applications and fees associated, monitor main Program shared mailbox, address common inquiries and direct other email appropriately, compile travel request documents for CLEP staff, and perform routine supply inventory and obtain quotes as needed.

Additional Comments Dependent upon the initial assignment or subsequent reassignment of this position satisfactory background checks may be required. Additionally, exposure to potentially hazardous substances may be involved with this position; the selected candidate may be required to wear personal protective clothing and equipment, and may undergo pre-employment and/or periodic health evaluations and receive specific immunizations.

Passing score on typing test is required before a job offer to this title can be approved. Transfer candidates may be asked for SSN to verify title history and eligibility. Permanent, full time. If three or fewer New York State Department of Health promotional candidates respond to this notice, the agency may, at its discretion, nominate a qualified employee for non-competitive promotion under the provisions of Section 52.7 of the Civil Service Law.
