Minimum Qualifications Permanent Transfer Candidates: Current NYS Department of Health employee with permanent or contingent-permanent, competitive status as an Area Office Director, M-3 OR a Current NYS employee with one year of permanent or contingent-permanent service in a title at or above Grade 27 or M-2, and eligible for transfer via Section 52.6 of the Civil Service Law.

Preferred Qualifications: Excellent management skills and ability to encourage a team participation and leverage technology for a fast-paced, complex, high-profile program in an evolving office atmosphere. Proficiency in use of technology, including, but not limited to, the Microsoft Office suite of products. Experience working with or surveillance of vulnerable adult populations.

Duties Description Incumbent will manage the Division of Adult Care Facility (ACF) and Assisted Living Surveillance program in the Metropolitan Area Regional Office (MARO) within the Department of Health (DOH).? The ACF Area Office Director will serve as Executive Program Director and manage regional program administration and staff supervision; coordinate, plan, and evaluate program activities and goals, prepare Executive reports, and consistently monitor for areas of needed programmatic improvement; teach surveillance techniques and link staff with necessary training to advance their skills; serve as point of contact for various high profile initiatives and work with the program, Department, and Office of Aging and Long Term Care Executives to balance resources needed to successfully implement such initiatives; and direct investigations including evaluating investigative materials and reports prepared by staff. The incumbent will also perform various duties and functions in conjunction with the overall operation of a location to which they are assigned including, but not limited to, emergency preparedness activities.

Additional Comments This position requires routine travel between the New York City and Central Islip field offices to provide support and oversight, and requires frequent travel to throughout the lower Hudson Valley where many adult care facilities are positioned.

This position requires proof of vaccination from COVID-19. This position requires travel including to areas that may not be serviced by public transportation.
