Salary RangeFrom $105500 to $133319 Annually
Minimum Qualifications Eligible for Section 70.1 or 52.6 transfer OR Reachable on the Associate Attorney eligible list.
Duties Description This position provides a full range of legal services in support of Department programs with an emphasis on agency procurements. The Associate Attorney will report to the Supervising Attorney and General Counsel. Duties will include, but are not limited to, the following:
• Drafting, review and negotiation of transactional agreements (i.e. contracts, memorandum of Agreements, data sharing agreements, other negotiated agreements, etc.);
• Assistance with the development and review of solicitation vehicles such as Requests for Proposals and Invitations for Bid;
• Performing legal research and analysis in order to respond, both orally and in writing, to requests for legal decisions and opinions from internal staff and outside agencies. This may include research and analysis in the area of compliance with the Affordable Care Act; Mental Health Parity compliance; employee benefits matters; employee relations matters; health insurance issues; general administrative law (such as regulation promulgation and Freedom of Information Law);
• Supervision of Senior Attorneys and/or Legal Assistants or other support staff as required; and
• Other duties as assigned.
Additional Comments NOTE ON TELECOMMUTING: DCS employees may be approved for a maximum of 50% telecommuting, however, they are required to apply and obtain approval through management in accordance with DCS Telecommuting Program Guidelines.
