Minimum Qualifications Must be physically able to perform the tasks of the position and be able to understand and carry out written or oral instructions. When required to operate motor vehicles, incumbents must possess a valid New York State driver’s license appropriate for the type of vehicle being operated.
Duties Description PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Facility Operations Assistant 1 Grounds is responsible for assisting in maintaining the appearance and condition of the grounds, and the community residences throughout the District.
Under the direction of Plant Maintenance personnel:
• Maintains the appearance and conditions of grounds at State facilities.
• Cleans grounds of homes and decks by utilizing pressure washers and brushes.
• Paint and stain homes and decks.
• May assist in minor maintenance duties under the supervision of a tradesman.
• Other duties as assigned.
PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS:
• Able to work independently or as part of a work team.
• Able to operate a variety of hand and power equipment in a safe manner.
Additional Comments • For CSEA positions: Local Bidding Agreements will be honored.
