Minimum Qualifications Candidate must be a matriculated part time or full time undergraduate or graduate student at a school recognized by the New York State Education Department. Documentation of current matriculation and enrollment must be submitted with your resume.

Duties Description The Student Assistant duties will include but are not limited to the following:
• Assists with the Department of State’s statewide emergency management operations, including DOS activities related to the State Emergency Operations Center.
• Assists in the preparation of updates to the agency’s emergency plan, including emergency response, disaster recovery, and continuity of operations plans.
• Prepares draft correspondence, reports, presentations, and other materials related to emergency response, disaster recovery, and continuity of operations plans.
• Assists with the coordination with information technology representatives to ensure that the agency’s systems align with disaster recovery and business continuity plans; and ensures the identification and implementation of system enhancements to maintain critical functions during emergency or disaster situations.

Additional Comments A student of Emergency Management, Emergency Preparedness, or Fire Protection Engineering is preferred.
