Minimum Qualifications Permanent transfer candidates: Current Department of Health (DOH) employee with permanent or contingent-permanent status as a Health Program Administrator (G18); OR current NYS employee with one year or more of permanent or contingent-permanent, competitive service in a title eligible to transfer under Section 52.6, Section 70.1, or Section 70.4 of the Civil Service Law to a Health Program Administrator (G18), Health Program Administrator Trainee 1 (NS), or Health Program Administrator Trainee 2 (NS). Public candidates: Active list candidate on the New York State Department of Civil Service’s Professional Career Opportunities (PCO) eligible list #26-570 with a score of 100 OR qualified 55B/C candidate in possession of a bachelor’s or higher degree.
Preferred Qualifications: One year experience working in a call center or in a remote environment, especially as it relates to talking to clinical staff or people working in a health care setting.
Duties Description The Staffing Surveyor will review complaints and perform reviews of documentation related to staffing plans and staffing levels at hospitals. They will become familiar with the appropriate laws and regulations and create policy documents to be considered and approved by the Clinical Lead and the Chief Evaluator of the Hospital Safe Staffing program. They will liaison with complainants, hospital staff and state agency leadership. They will draft notice to hospitals regarding issues and, if necessary, sanctions. They will record activities into appropriate information systems.
Additional Comments This position requires proof of vaccination from COVID-19. This position requires travel, including to areas that may not be serviced by public transportation.
