Minimum Qualifications MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

1. Must currently be a permanent Developmental Disabilities Program Specialist 1 OR
2. Must be active and reachable on the Civil Service eligible list for Developmental Disabilities Program Specialist 1 OR
3. Eligible for 70.1 transfer by way of current permanent status in a title deemed comparable to Developmental Disabilities Program Specialist 1 by the Department of Civil Service (Must also be within 2 salary grades of the targeted title.

NOTE: Provisional appointments will only be considered if there are insufficient in-title and/or Civil Service list candidates.

Duties Description POSITION DESCRIPTION:

The incumbent will be part of DDRO 4 Development Unit and will be responsible for completing development representative responsibilities. The DDRO Region 4 Development Unit has responsibility for the development of all voluntary operated residential and day services in NYC. This unit is responsible for all aspects of the development process for all NYC Voluntary Operated programs including, but not limited to residential and day services. In addition, this position is necessary to fulfill OPWDD initiatives including placement of individuals aging out of residential schools and individuals on OPWDD’s Emergency Needs list.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
The responsibilities of the DDPS 1 include but are not limited to the following:
• Working with the Voluntary and OPWDD State Operations and DDRO staff on the development of residential
opportunities for individuals on OPWDD’s Emergency Needs list (CRO).
• Assisting with the development of residential placements for young adults aging-out of Residential Schools.
• Working with the Waiver Enrollment team on behalf of individuals going into the residential placements identified above
• Review operating budgets, PPA development, construction oversight, assisting agencies in the preparation of certification and opening of programs
• Provide technical assistance to the Voluntary providers on all aspects of development.
