Minimum Qualifications Labor Class: There are no education or experience qualifications for this class. Applicants must be physically able to perform the tasks of the position and be able to understand and carry out written or oral instructions. Incumbents must possess a valid New York State driver's license appropriate for the type of vehicle being operated.
Preferred Qualifications: The knowledge and ability to operate the vehicles and equipment used in maintaining the Wadsworth Center's buildings and grounds—including, but not limited to, lawnmowers, snowblowers, utility carts, delivery vans, landscape/rack trucks, and forklifts.
Duties Description The Facilities Operations Assistant will perform routine and unskilled work such as moving supplies and equipment throughout the facilities; removing materials from construction sites; painting; year-round grounds work; maintaining machinery; loading and unloading trucks; performing rough carpentry and masonry work; and operating the pickup/delivery program across the Wadsworth Center's five sites.
Additional Comments Dependent upon the initial assignment or subsequent reassignment of this position satisfactory background checks may be required. Additionally, exposure to potentially hazardous substances may be involved with this position; the selected candidate may be required to wear personal protective clothing and equipment, and may undergo pre-employment and/or periodic health evaluations and receive specific immunizations.
Prior to being hired, applicants may be required to demonstrate their ability to perform the essential duties of the position.
