Salary RangeFrom $88161 to $111111 Annually
Minimum Qualifications Reachable on current Civil Service eligible list used for filling this title; or, one year of permanent, competitive class service as a Senior Attorney; or, one year of permanent, competitive service in a title eligible for transfer under Section 70.1 or 52.6 of the Civil Service Law. Example of eligible titles include but are not limited to: Senior Attorney Realty. 52.6 transfers may be considered only if you have passed the NYS Bar Exam.
Duties Description Senior Attorney will work with the Litigation Director and Supervising Hearing Representative to advise Claims on litigation before the Workers' Compensation Board and case management strategies. The Senior Attorney will assist and advise the Litigation Director and Supervising Hearing Representative, as well as provide legal guidance to the Claims offices. The Senior Attorney will ensure productive communication and transfer of information between the Claims and Legal departments. The Senior Attorney will develop and oversee litigation strategies and initiatives. The Senior Attorney will work with the Supervising Insurance Fund Hearing Representative to identify areas in which litigation staff require training and provide or facilitate the same. The Senior Attorney will litigate claims, which will include such tasks as research, depositions, hearings, memoranda of law, and subpoenas.
