Minimum Qualifications Candidates must currently be reachable for appointment from the appropriate Civil Service eligible lists or be eligible for reassignment or transfer in accordance with Civil Service Law. You will be required to pass a keyboarding test that demonstrates your ability to enter text at a rate of at least 30 words per minute with at least 96% accuracy.
Duties Description The incumbent will be responsible for the duties described in the Department of Civil Service Classification Standard for Office Assistant 1 (Keyboarding), SG-06.
Duties include but are not limited to:
• Answering questions from, and providing information to various parties regarding agency activities,
• Transactions and procedures,
• Answering telephones,
• Utilizing computers,
• Scheduling appointments and meetings,
• Filing,
• Distributing incoming correspondence,
• Performing data entry,
• Typing,
• Proofreading and correcting correspondence, documents, records, and other written material,
• Transcribing,
• Assisting in gathering or compiling data for reports, graphs, charts tables or other products,
• Creating graphs, charts, or other visual aids to display data,
• Preparing routine reports or assist others in the preparation of reports following established guidelines.
Responsibilities may include serving a role within the Incident Command System to support the department’s response to regional and statewide emergency situations.
Additional Comments *Telecommuting: The Department’s current telecommuting agreement is valid through January 31, 2023 and is subject to extension beyond that date.
