Minimum Qualifications Candidates must be reachable on the appropriate Civil Service eligible list.

OR

To be eligible for transfer under Section 70.1, candidates must have one year of permanent, competitive or 55 b/c service in a title designated as appropriate for transfer in accordance with Section 70.1 of the Civil Service Law. Transfer eligible titles include but may not be limited to: Office Assistant 2, Office Assistant 2 Calculations, Office Assistant 2 Keyboarding.

Provisional Qualifications:
One year of permanent competitive, non-competitive, labor, or 55-b/55-c service in a clerical position allocated to a Grade 6 or higher.

Open competitive:
Either 1. 60 or more college semester credit hours AND one year of full-time qualifying experience*
Or 2. a high school diploma or GED AND two years of full-time general office experience AND ONE YEAR of full-time qualifying experience*

*Experience processing claims, examining claims or adjusting claims; OR experience dealing with many different individuals on a continuous basis where VERBAL COMMUNICATION is the primary method used to resolve those individuals problems or issues or to explain policies, programs/services, or procedures to those individuals.

If appointed provisionally, the incumbent will need to take the next Civil Service examination for this title and pass with a score that will be immediately reachable on the resulting eligible list. Failure to take, pass and achieve a reachable score on the examination may result in revocation of the appointment.

Duties Description Under the supervision of the Program Manager of the Monitoring and Audit Unit, utilize knowledge of the Workers' Compensation law and Board procedures to produce reports, resolve issues and respond to inquiries from system participants and Board Management regarding the automated payor performance program.
The AWCE is the initial contact for:
• All incoming calls to the Unit as related to appeals, reviews and carrier, self-insureds, third party administrators and claimant inquiries.
• Registering and updating registrations for over 1200 carriers, self-insureds, and third-party administrators.
• Incoming and outgoing mail.
• Processing subpoenas
• Tracking all audits
• Monitoring Unit Shared mailbox, answering and routing emails to unit staff.
