Duties Description Under the supervision of a Recreation Complex Manager, the Park and Recreation Aide in the Aquatics Complex will be responsible for:
• Performing general building maintenance, including but not limited to cleaning the exterior of the complex.
• Removing litter/debris around the building, maintaining, and sanitizing locker rooms (cleaning toilets, urinals, sinks, water fountains, window cleaning, hosing down floors and shower area).
• Maintaining lobby area of the building, including mopping floors, cleaning windows, removing refuse, and maintaining staff offices.
• Greeting the public, answering questions about programs and classes offered, and assisting with other inquiries from park patrons.
• Assisting with organizing and maintaining pool equipment used by aquatics classes.
• Ensuring the safety of all patrons in the pool area by preventing and responding to emergencies.
• Assisting with front desk duties, such as answering phones, scanning swim passes, collecting pool tickets, and monitoring the lobby.
• Assisting in other areas of the park as needed and performing other duties as assigned.
Additional Comments OPERATIONAL NEEDS:
• Must be available to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Must be able to lift at least 30 pounds.
• Must be willing to support operational needs and special projects throughout the NYC Region as needed.
