55 B/C Qualifications:
This position is designated 55b/c and is subject to verification of applicant eligibility. Please provide a copy of your 55b/c letter when applying. You must meet the open competitive qualifications from the most recent examination announcement.

*Your degree must have been awarded by a college or university accredited by a regional, national, or specialized agency recognized as an accrediting agency by the U.S. Department of Education/U.S. Secretary of Education. If your degree was awarded by an educational institution outside the United States or its territories, you must provide independent verification of equivalency.

Reassignment Qualifications:
Current Department of Labor employees only, with at least one year of permanent, contingent-permanent, or 55b/c service as a Labor Services Representative or Trainee 1/2; if you have less than one year, you must be reachable on the current Labor Services Representative eligible list for this location, if one exists.

70.1 Transfer Qualifications:
One year of permanent or contingent-permanent as a Grade 14 or higher determined to be similar by Civil Service.

70.4 Transfer Qualifications:
One year of permanent or contingent-permanent or 55b/c service as a Grade 11 or higher and a passing score on Labor Services Representative exam and a bachelor’s degree *. Note: Candidates must not have failed the most recent examination for this title. Appointments are made at the Trainee 1 level.

Duties Description STANDARD DUTIES:
The Labor Services Representative/Trainee 1/2 duties will include but are not limited to the following:
• assist customers and provide a broad range of services to jobseekers and employers both on an individual basis and through group presentations.
• interview customers to evaluate the nature of services desired, obtaining a complete work history including job experience, education, skills, salary ranges and job preferences.
• identify barriers to employment and develop solutions to these barriers.
• intensive job placement assistance is key through developing skills-based resume, successful employment interview coaching, providing continuing job leads, conducting employment referrals and advocating for the job seeker when applying for a job.
• provide information on resources available through the Department of Labor.

Travel Requirements: 20%

Position specific job duties may include occasional altered work schedule or job assignments which require availability and willingness to work occasional evenings and/or out-stationed assignments.

Candidate MAY be allowed to telecommute up to 4 days day per pay period dependent upon operational needs.

Candidates with no previous state service will begin at the starting rate of the salary range listed above.
