Minimum Qualifications Reachable on the Department of Civil Service Eligible List for Program Aide, Permanent or Contingent Permanent status as a Program Aide, or eligible for transfer.

Duties Description Reporting to a Human Resources Specialist 1, the Program Aide position will be responsible for supporting the work of the Human Resources Management Bureau, specifically the Competitive Recruitment team of the Office of the Attorney General (OAG) at our Albany, NY location. The incumbent will serve as the agency point of contact for the NYS Civil Service Commission and will also assist Human Resources Administrators with recruitment related tasks. Duties will include, but are not limited to:
• Serve as agency liaison for the NYS Civil Service Commission.
• Prepare monthly planning calendars.
• Prepare and submit documentation to OAG Executive staff and the NYS Civil Service Commission.
• Monitor recruitment email inbox daily and file resumes in appropriate folder.
• Prepare charts that evaluate candidates and/or employees against minimum qualifications in job postings.
• If further information is needed from applicants, sends email requesting information.
• Draft and send monthly recertification email to the NYS Civil Service Commission.
• Communicate recruitment updates to Human Resources and agency staff.
• File appropriate paperwork in employee’s personnel history files.
• Prepare and post job postings.
• Watch monthly NYS Civil Service Commission Webcast meeting.
• Manage database spreadsheets and reports to track the status of employees’ recruitment status.
• Provide Human Resources Administrators with recruitment assistance.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
Additional Comments Dependent on OAG policy and subject to management discretion, this position has compressed work week and telecommuting options available. The candidate selected for this position must work in the Albany location (Agency Building 4, Empire State Plaza) of the Attorney General’s office 22.5 hours per week. Telecommuting may be permitted for up to 15 hours per week.
