Minimum Qualifications CURRENT STATE EMPLOYEES:
Current New York State employee with one year or more of qualifying permanent service in a position allocated to a Grade 11 or above and eligible for transfer under Section 70.1, 70.4, or 52.6 of the Civil Service Law.
70.4 Transfer: Candidates must have one year of permanent competitive or 55b/c service at the Grade 11 or above AND possession of a bachelor’s degree; AND standing on the Professional Careers Opportunities (PCO) or Public Administration Traineeship Transition (PATT) eligible lists.
PCO Candidates: Individuals with a score of 100 or above on the Professional Career Opportunities (PCO) eligible list are encouraged to apply.
Successful completion of a two-year traineeship leads to appointment as a Human Resources Specialist 1, SG-18.
GENERAL PUBLIC CANDIDATES:

Duties Description The incumbent will be responsible for a wide range of personnel activities for OGS and hosted agencies that may include, but not be limited to the following:
Management Services Unit (MSU) & Reasonable Accommodations:
Serve as the Designee for Reasonable Accommodations (DRA) to review, process, and provide determinations to applications in accordance with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), NYS Human Rights Law, Civil Rights Act, and all applicable Executive Orders and Memoranda. Work closely with each agency’s Legal Services, NYS Department of Civil Service, and/or Office of Employee Relations.
Additionally assist with various MSU functions including by not limited to the Omnibus Transportation Testing Act drug testing program, VRWS, AWS, part-time employees, deaths, retirements, wellness checks, and telecommuting agreements. Assist program managers and supervisors with the performance evaluation program (including training and processing unsatisfactory evaluations) and consult with programs to compile information as needed. Serve as the 206c Coordinator and the Domestic Violence Liaison, and process requests relating to the World Trade Center.
All positions must:
• Efficiently monitor and track shared email mailboxes and electronic fax.
• Interact with customers and colleagues in a courteous and professional manner.
• Efficiently utilize program databases, applications, and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Create, organize, and maintain office files.
• Perform tasks in an efficient, timely, and safe manner.
• Perform other duties and special projects as required.
• Preferred experience in Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe.
