Minimum Qualifications 70.1 TRANSFER QUALIFICATIONS:
One year of permanent, contingent permanent, or 55 B/C service allocated to a Grade 11 or higher eligible for transfer and determined to be similar by Civil Service.

For transfers, a list of approved titles is available through Civil Service GOT-IT at https://careermobilityoffice.cs.ny.gov/cmo/gotit/. The GOT-IT site will inform you if your title requires special qualifications for 52.6 or 70.1 transfer as detailed above

PROVISIONAL QUALIFICATIONS:
Based on the results of the canvass of the current eligible list for the Program Aide, the Department of State may elect to make a provisional appointment to this position rather than a permanent appointment. If a provisional appointment is made, the appointed candidate will be required to compete in the next holding of the Administrative Aide/Agency Program Aide exam and be reachable for appointment from the newly established eligible list.

The minimum qualifications for Provisional appointment are:

You must be a qualified employee of New York State and have had three months of permanent competitive or 55-b/55-c service in a G-5 or higher clerical, secretarial, keyboarding or paraprofessional** title set in an office environment. Qualifying titles are available at:
www.cs.ny.gov/examannouncements/announcements/00340titles.cfm Only the title(s) listed is qualifying for this examination(s).

**Only paraprofessional titles in an office environment will be considered qualifying. Service in a direct care title is not qualifying experience. Examples of non-qualifying titles are: Developmental Disabilities Secure Care Treatment Aide 1; Direct Support Assistant; Food Service Worker 1; Licensed Practical Nurse; Mental Health Therapy Aide; and Security Services Assistant.

It is essential that candidates clearly and concisely indicate exactly how they meet the above minimum qualifications in their resume. Failure to show how you meet the minimum qualifications above may result in disqualification and removal from consideration.

55 B/C QUALIFICATIONS
Current permanent non-competitive state employees certified eligible for the 55 B/C program under the Governor's Program to Hire Persons/Veterans with Disabilities pursuant to Section 55 B/C of the Civil Service Law will also be considered. Please provide a copy of your letter of eligibility with your response.

Duties Description The Program Aide’s duties will include but are not limited to the following:
• Canvass eligible lists for centralized and decentralized lists and complete acceptors lists
• Post Job Vacancy Announcements internally and on the New York State Jobs website
• Correspondence both written and oral with customers and applicants
• Prepare routine correspondence and reports
• Assist with directory services administration
• Pull clearance codes biweekly and as needed
• Assist as the backup to onboarding, benefits, and administrative support
• Perform other administrative duties as assigned
