Minimum Qualifications Current New York State employee with one year of permanent or contingent-permanent service as an Administrative Aide (G-13), Agency Program Aide (G-13) or Program Aide (G-13); or one year of permanent or contingent-permanent service in a title allocated to G-11 or above eligible for transfer under Section 70.1 of the Civil Service Law.
Preferred Qualifications: The applicant should have a broad range of skills and experience including but not limited to assisting with various administrative activities and operational transactions. The applicant should be able to work independently, have excellent organizational skills, and possess excellent written and oral communication skills. The applicant should be proficient in Microsoft Office products, including Word, Excel, MS Access and PowerPoint. Experience with outreach and providing guidance to various stakeholders and handling of other customer service issues. Experience creating, working in and modifying access database tables and queries. Experience with excel spreadsheets.
Duties Description Work within the Bureau of Narcotic Enforcement to support the Prescription Monitoring Program Registry. Review and assist with projects involving data collection, preparation of written materials and reports, analysis of information, presentation of information and formulation of recommendations. Provide verbal and written communications to internal and external stakeholders. Track progress of multiple tasks and report to Bureau and DOH Executive Management as requested. Assist with administrative tasks, operational activities, and other Bureau tasks as needed.
Additional Comments DOH’s Telecommuting Pilot Program for NYS DOH staff has been extended through June 30, 2023. The number of permissible telecommuting days for each employee, not to exceed 5
days per pay period, will be determined by the current work demands/assignments as well as program operational needs.
This position requires travel including to areas that may not be serviced by public transportation.
