Duties Description This title is located in the Division of Environmental Remediation. The Professional Geologist 1 will be responsible for oversight/management of State Superfund, Resource Conservation and Recovery Act corrective action, Environmental Restoration Program and Brownfield Cleanup Program remediation sites in the investigation, design, construction or site management phase. Project management includes review of site conditions and data to ensure investigations and remediations will be effective, oversight of remedial consultants and contractors, and proficiency in all facets of project management.
Duties include interaction and effective communication with contractors, responsible parties, property owners, the public and other governmental agencies, including the Department of Health. The project manager is also required to manage budgets and schedules, approve and process payment applications, ensure adequate field inspection and perform project closeout. This position requires an ability to manage multiple projects at the same time, prioritization of workload while still keeping abreast of all site engineering, contractual and administrative needs. May supervise subordinate staff.

Must be able to work in adverse weather conditions. Travel may be required. Overtime may be required. Overnight travel may be required. Weekends and holidays may be required.
