Minimum Qualifications Senior Accountant: Reachable for appointment on current Civil Service eligible list used for filling this title or one year of permanent competitive service in a title eligible for transfer under Section 70.1 of the Civil Service Law. Examples of eligible titles include but are not limited to: Auditor 1, Internal Auditor 1, Contract Management Specialist 1, State Program Examiner 1.
Accountant Trainee 1 or 2: Reachable for appointment on current Civil Service eligible list used for filling this title, or one year of permanent competitive service in a title eligible for transfer under Section 70.1 of the Civil Service Law. Examples of eligible titles include but are not limited to: Accountant Aide, Auditor Tr 1, Budgeting Analyst Tr 1.
Please note, candidates in a transferable title may also require the additional qualification of 24 semester credit hours in accounting, auditing or taxation.

Duties Description This position will support the Financial Planning and Analysis Team in NYSIF's Accounting Operations Unit. Duties will include, but are not be limited to:
-Support FP&A Team to develop and create budget templates
-Assist with headcount reporting
-Manage feeds and reporting from Oracle to Hyperion
-Work closely with Financial Reporting to understand the mapping and reporting of actuals
-Work closely with department heads to develop the budget and report on progress with a rolling forecast

This position may be designated 55 b/c and is subject to verification of applicant eligibility. Candidates must possess a bachelor's or higher degree in accounting, auditing, or taxation, or a bachelor's or higher degree with 24 semester credit hours in accounting, auditing, or taxation courses. Please note that courses such as business law, economics, statistics, and most finance courses, although taken as part of an accounting curriculum, cannot be counted toward the 24 semester credit hours.
