Minimum Qualifications Reassignment: Current New York State Department of Health employee with one year of permanent or contingent-permanent service as a Program Aide, Grade 13 (formerly known as Administrative Aide, Grade 13, or Agency Program Aide, Grade 13).

Transfer Opportunity: New York State employee with one or more years of permanent or contingent-permanent service in title at Grade 11 or above, and eligible for transfer to Program Aide, Grade 13, under Section 70.1 of the Civil Service Law.


Preferred Qualifications:

The preferred candidate will have experience with program planning and policy development; preparation, review, and evaluation of technical documents; and coordination of stakeholder work groups. They will possess excellent communication and organizational skills; experience with Microsoft Office Suite, and have the ability to work independently and prioritize multiple assignments.

Duties Description The Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants, and Children (WIC) offers nutrition education, breastfeeding support, referrals, and a variety of nutritious foods to low-income pregnant, breastfeeding, or postpartum women, infants, and children up to age five to promote and support good health. The Information Systems Management Section (ISMS) is responsible for the management of systems related to WIC.

This position will support the ISMS administrative duties, including the management of user accounts, NYWIC User Acceptance Testing, site development, and DataMart activities. The incumbent will assist in special projects to document requests for account access and site development changes. They will respond to account and site development questions from local agency staff and division staff, actively participate in section meetings regarding the development and review of procedures regarding user account requests and site development and respond to help desk tickets ensuring timely responses.

Additional Comments Contingent permanent, full-time, competitive appointment. Travel to areas not served by public transportation may be required (5%). Transfer candidates may be asked for their social security number to verify transfer eligibility.
