Duties Description The SG 28 position is a section chief within the Bureau of Water and Natural Resources. The SG 28 primarily provides legal support to the Division of Marine Resources for program matters. The SG 28 may also be responsible for providing legal support to the coastal erosion and hazard area (CEHA) program within the Division of Water and the Invasive Species program within the Division of Lands and Forest. As related to the CEHA program area, the SG 28 position may also work with the United States Army Corps of Engineers (USACE), and local partners, by drafting access and partnership agreements and addressing issues that may arise through the state approval process. Currently, two SG 25 positions report to the section chief. Those two SG 25 positions currently provide legal advice for the following: wetlands program matters; ECL Article 15 program matters; conservation easements for source water protection; water quality grants; impaired waters; water quality standards; NYC Watershed program matters; and Environmental Benefit Projects. The SG 28 position is responsible for supervision on those matters.
