Duties Description Duties of this position will include implementing and assisting with various programs and activities at the regional level in the Division of Water, including: general stormwater SPDES permits (Construction Multi-Sector, and Municipal Separate Stormwater Sewer System (MS4)); reviewing construction stormwater pollution prevention plans; investigating water quality and stormwater complaints; stream sampling as needed; responding to Freedom of Information Law (FOIL) requests; and preparing documents for compliance and enforcement actions, including preparation of legal referrals. The position requires that the successful candidate be able to work outside in various weather conditions and in varying terrain, manage multiple work assignments at the same time, have strong verbal and written communication skills, and be able to effectively communicate and interact with a variety of people, including municipal officials, wastewater operators, consulting engineers, and the public. Additional job responsibilities will be discussed during the interview.
Additional Comments Must have a valid driver’s license or demonstrate the ability to meet the transportation needs of the position. Must be able to negotiate difficult terrain. Must be able to work in remote areas. Must be able to work in adverse weather conditions. Travel may be required. Overtime may be required. Overnight travel may be required. Must be able to lift and move objects up to 50 pounds. Telecommuting may be available, will be discussed at interview.
