Duties Description An Environmental Program Specialist 1 in the Division of Air Resources performs a variety of tasks including carrying out of projects or serving as a member of a project team in the resolution of problems related to air resources. Typical activities might include:
• Perform on-site inspections of registered or unpermitted facilities to evaluate compliance with air regulations.
• Respond and investigate complaints including but not limited to open burning, outdoor wood boilers, potentially exempt or regulated air emission sources
• Prepare Air Facility Registrations for new and existing facilities.
• Review compliance certification and periodic monitoring reports.
• Oversee all aspects of emissions testing.
• Perform enforcement activities as needed
• Ensure all work is documented and properly filed.
• Assist with Freedom of Information Law requests.
• Must be comfortable navigating software required for the position
• Must have good verbal and written communication skills and correspond in an accurate, professional manner.
Additional Comments Must have a valid driver’s license or demonstrate the ability to meet the transportation needs of the position. Travel may be required. Overtime may be required. Overnight travel may be required. Telecommuting may be available, will be discussed at interview.
