Minimum Qualifications Reassignment - Currently in the title and an employee of DEC

Reinstatement Eligible - Previously held the title on a permanent competitive basis.

Preferred Qualification: Expertise in AutoCAD Civil 3D, site topo surveys, the Adirondack Forest Preserve, DEC regulations, the Army Corps of Engineers, State and International Building Codes, energy efficiency and other guidelines related to building and site design.

Duties Description The position serves as the manager for building projects and design work for the Building Design Section of the Bureau of Design & Construction. It may occasionally involve consultant management as required to meet organizational needs. This position also involves the development of construction project plans and specifications as well as support during project bid, design and award phases through construction completion. Site visits for project development or construction support may require overnight travel to remote parts of New York State.

Additional Comments Must have a valid driver’s license or demonstrate the ability to meet the transportation needs of the position. Must be able to work in remote areas. Travel may be required. Overnight travel may be required. Must be available for emergency response. Telecommuting may be available, will be discussed at interview.
