Duties Description The Professional Engineer 2 (Environmental) with the Division of Air Resources' Bureau of Air Quality Planning in Albany, NY will be responsible for:
Managing and directing the staff and resources of the Division of Air Resources' Cap-and-Invest Section (C&I Section). This section will be primarily responsible for the development and ultimately implement an economywide cap-and-invest program including the development of a mandatory GHG reporting regulation to support the implementation of the cap-and-invest program.
Management and supervision of the professional and technical staff and resources of the C&I section.
Provide oversight for the implementation of the cap-and-invest regulatory program.
Coordinate with the other sections in the bureau and the Office of Climate Change on climate change policy initiatives, strategies and inventories that result from or support the implementation of the cap-and-invest program and its associated GHG inventories.
Coordinate with the Mobile Source and Climate Change Planning section on potential changes to Part 242 and on the interaction of the two programs moving forward.
Respond to inquiries and assignments in a timely manner, including Governor's, Commissioner's, and Executive Staff correspondence as related to the cap-and-invest program.
Development and execution of work plans for the section.
Additional Comments Must have a valid driver’s license or demonstrate the ability to meet the transportation needs of the position. Travel may be required. Overtime may be required. Overnight travel may be required. Telecommuting may be available, will be discussed at interview.
