Minimum Qualifications Minimum qualifications for provisional appointment:
You must be a qualified employee of New York State and have had one year of permanent competitive or 55-b/55-c service in a G-5 or higher clerical, secretarial, keyboarding or paraprofessional** title set in an office environment. Transfer eligible under Section 70.1 - permanent competitive service as an Accountant Aide, Accountant Aide Trainee 2, Business Document Specialist 2, Stores & Mail Operations Supervisor, Principal Mail and Supply Clerk, Principal Offset Print Machine Operator, Principal Stores Clerk, Program Aide, Administrative Assistant 1.

Duties Description The Program Aide will support all Office of Climate Change programs under the direct supervision of the director or assistant director. Principal duties include monitoring of all office expenditures, including purchases, travel expenses and contractual services; maintenance of administrative files necessary to ensure timely and accurate reports and access to information; assistance in development and administration of Climate Smart Community and other grant solicitations; and review of Climate Smart Community and other grantee deliverables for completeness and accuracy. The Program Aide will assist in development and administration of vendor and contractor solicitations; and review and edit contracts and grant documents for accuracy and suitability. The Program Aide will draft correspondence and reports for review; schedule and assist with meetings, interviews and other events; and supervise seasonal and/or clerical staff and ensure their timely and accurate completion of assigned tasks.
Additional Comments Must have a valid driver’s license or demonstrate the ability to meet the transportation needs of the position. Telecommuting may be available, will be discussed at interview.
