Minimum Qualifications MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Permanent Qualifications: Candidate must currently be a permanent Office Assistant 2
OR Reachable on the current Civil Service eligible list.
OR
Eligible to transfer via section 70.1 of Civil Service Law by having at least one year of permanent service in a qualifying title.
Provisional Qualifications: Candidates must be a qualified employee of New York State and have had one year of permanent competitive or 55-b/55-c service as an office assistant, clerical, or keyboarding title allocated to a grade 5 or higher.
Duties Description PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Under the supervision of the Human Resources Specialist 1, the incumbent will independently perform the following duties:
• Greet employees/visitors and respond to general inquires.
• Track probationary reports and performance evaluations.
• Prepare employment packages, organize personal history folders
• Answer phones and ensures the waiting area is clean and inviting.
• Prepare outgoing mail for delivery and sort incoming mail.
• Complete and distribute appointment/exit and status change letters.
• Order and maintain office inventory.
• Provide assistance with recruiting and onboarding of all incoming staff.
• Schedule EHS for onboarding of Direct Support Staff.
• Will be responsible for updating and maintaining direct support assistant database.
• Assist Human Resources staff as needed.
