Minimum Qualifications Candidates must be reachable on the appropriate Civil Service eligible list.

OR

Candidates must have one year permanent competitive or non-competitive 55 b/c service as a Senior Attorney or be eligible to transfer under section 52.6 or 70.1 of the Civil Service Law.

Duties Description The incumbent will be responsible for:

• Upon entry of 26-a judgments by the Judgment Unit or GSIT judgments obtained by the Litigation Unit, perform skip tracing and asset searches to determine the best methods to collect the debt owed to the Board.

• Provide management with recommendations on the enforcement of the Board’s judgments utilizing methods available under CPLR Article 52.

• Draft legal documents, including but not limited to, information subpoenas, wage garnishments, property executions and contempt motions.

• Negotiate settlements and draft settlement documents.

• Monitor for compliance with settlement provisions, including sending default notices, obtaining Affidavits of Confession of Judgement, and filing judgments on defaulted settlement agreements.

• Ensure GSIT judgements are properly entered in the SWOP program and removed when the debt has been settled or satisfied.

• Appear in state court as necessary, travel may be required.
