Minimum Qualifications A current NYS employee with one year of permanent or contingent-permanent competitive service in a title allocated to a G-11 or higher, and eligible for transfer to a Program Aide under Section 70.1 of the Civil Service Law.
Provisional: Current NYS Department of Health employee with one year or more of permanent or contingent-permanent, competitive service or 55-b/55-c service in a G-5 or higher clerical, secretarial, keyboarding or paraprofessional** title set in an office environment.

Preferred Qualifications: Excellent communication and organizational skills; experience with Microsoft Office suite including Excel; ability to work independently. Due to the nature of human resources, there are frequent conflicting and changing priorities and deadlines, requiring good organizational and triaging skills.
Duties Description The Program Aide assigned to the Bureau of Personnel Management (BPM) will support various recruitment and hiring activities. Duties include but are not limited to: processing payroll transactions; compiling and disseminating reports; monitoring shared bureau mailboxes; preparing and posting job vacancies; tracking recruitment activities in Request to Fill sharepoint; liaising with various business partners; working on special projects as needed.

For new State employees appointed to graded positions, the annual salary is the hiring rate (beginning of the Salary Range) of the position. Promotion salaries are calculated by the NYS Office of the State Comptroller in accordance with NYS Civil Service Law, OSC Payroll rules and regulations and negotiated union contracts.
