Minimum Qualifications To be considered for this position you must be reachable on the appropriate Civil Service examination list; OR Current NYS employee with one year or more of permanent or contingent-permanent, competitive service as an Office Assistant 2 (keyboarding or other parenthetics); Or in a title eligible to transfer under, Section 70.1 the Civil Service Law to an Office Assistant 2 (keyboarding). Preferred Qualifications: Proficiency with software including but not limited to InterTrac, Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint. Experience in preparing memos, routine office communications and correspondence, maintaining organized databases and filing systems, and handling confidential and sensitive information. Accuracy in reporting information, excellent attention to detail, written and oral communication skills, including proofreading presentation skills, are desired. Experience planning office meetings at Executive Office level and working with councils and advisory boards preferred.
Duties Description The Office Assistant 2 will work in the Office of External Affairs and will provide administrative support for the Division of Council Operations (DCO) in various phases of the Department’s vetting and appointment process. This includes regular preparation of memos, providing assistance with vettings for DOH council and board candidates being considered for appointment. Specific duties include maintaining council records, including working in InterTrac for Councils tracking system and Excel spreadsheets; maintaining accurate reporting of membership and meeting dates; tracking the progress of candidates; proper follow-up with programs; working with DCO staff to answer incoming inquiries pertaining to councils and membership. Other related duties as assigned.

Promotion salaries are calculated by the NYS Office of the State Comptroller in accordance with NYS Civil Service Law, OSC Payroll rules and regulations and negotiated union contracts.
