Three years of experience in general construction or maintenance and possession of a valid NYS driver's license appropriate for the types of vehicles to be operated.
Note: If there is a viable promotion examination eligible list (three acceptors) for this position, candidates who qualify under the 55-b/55-c option cannot be considered.
Duties Description These positions will report to the Saranac Inn Maintenance Center. Successful candidates will be responsible for field and office supervision, administration, documentation and scheduling of staff and projects within the summer recreation and maintenance & technical services programs for the Ray Brook Regional Office. Areas of responsibility will include, but are not limited to: implementation and administration of the Ray Brook facilities, grounds and janitorial maintenance of facilities, snow removal, ability to operate light and heavy equipment (loaders, skid steer, plows etc.), infrastructure project planning, HVAC management, fleet management, inventory control/documentation, ordering of supplies/materials and procurement of services. Monitor all activities related to the maintenance of facilities and property.
Additional Comments Must have a valid driver’s license or demonstrate the ability to meet the transportation needs of the position. Must be able to negotiate difficult terrain Must be able to work in remote areas. Must be able to work in adverse weather conditions. Overtime may be required. Overnight travel may be required. Weekends and holidays may be required. Must be available for emergency response. Must be available to respond to after-hours emergencies. Must be able to lift and move objects up to 60 pounds.
