Minimum Qualifications Permanent Transfer: Current NYS employee with one year or
more of permanent or contingent-permanent, competitive
service as a Maintenance Supervisor 2 Grade 17, OR a NYS
employee with one year or more of permanent or contingent- permanent, competitive service as a Plant Superintendent C (G21) or Plant Utilities Engineer 2 (G16), and eligible for transfer under Section 70.1 of the Civil Service Law.

Preferred Qualifications: Candidate should possess strong organizational, communication, and analytical skills; and must be able to work independently and as part of a team as well as handle multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Duties Description The Maintenance Supervisor 2 will be assigned to the David Axelrod Institute and will be responsible for managing and supporting maintenance activities, including fleet vehicles, building trades and shops for state and contract trades staff, state and contract custodial staff, operations purchasing, facilities regulatory inspection requirements, laboratory renovations, building maintenance, equipment and repair management.
Additional Comments Dependent upon the initial assignment or subsequent reassignment of this position satisfactory background checks may be required. Additionally, exposure to potentially hazardous substances may be involved with this position; the selected candidate may be required to wear personal protective clothing and equipment.
