Minimum Qualifications Current NYS Department of Health (DOH) employee with permanent or contingent-permanent, competitive status as a Health Program Administrator 1, G23 OR a NYS employee with one year or more of permanent or contingent-permanent, competitive service in a title at or above a G21 and deemed eligible for transfer to Health Program Administrator 1, G23 under Section 70.1 or Section 52.6 of the NYS Civil Service Law.

Preferred Qualifications: Familiarity with quality assurance principles and methodologies. Experience in vital records or a related field. Knowledge of document imaging and scanning technologies.

Duties Description The Office of Public Health is seeking a highly organized candidate to coordinate and support the processing, issuance, and distribution of vital records, such as birth certificates, death certificates, and marriage certificates. The HPA 1 will be responsible for ensuring the efficient and accurate fulfillment of all vital records requests while adhering to compliance standards. The responsibilities include: Coordinate the daily operations of the vital records fulfillment team, ensuring timely and accurate processing of requests; Develop and implement new procedures to modernize and streamline the fulfilment process and minimize errors; Train and mentor staff on vital records procedures, policies and regulations; Monitor and evaluate staff performance to ensure compliance with quality and productivity standards; Implement quality assurance measures to maintain the accuracy and integrity of vital records information; Prepare reports and presentation on vital records fulfillment metrics and trends; Supervise and guide a team of vital records staff.
