Minimum Qualifications Candidates must be reachable on the Civil Service eligible list for the title; OR have one year of permanent competitive or non-competitive 55b/c service as an Associate Attorney for reassignment; OR have one year of permanent competitive or non-competitive 55b/c service in a title eligible for transfer under Sections 70.1 or 52.6 of the Civil Service Law.

Duties Description The Associate Attorney will provide legal assistance and support to agency program administrators at the policymaking level and work on legal issues for which there is little precedent and have a major impact on an agency’s mission and program. The incumbent will supervise lower-level attorney(s) in a range of different forums and recommend changes in agency rules and regulations. The incumbent’s work will primarily focus on drafting and reviewing contracts; serve as a legal resource for issues that may arise with respect to contracts; and assist the General Counsel and other senior administrators of OASAS in complex matters related to procurements. Prior experience working on contractual, or procurement issues is strongly preferred.
