Minimum Qualifications Current NYS Department of Health (DOH) employee with permanent or contingent-permanent, competitive status as an Associate Administrative Analyst, G-23 OR a NYS employee with one year or more of permanent or contingent-permanent, competitive service in a title at or above a G-21 and deemed eligible for transfer to Associate Administrative Analyst, G-23 under section 52.6 of the NYS Civil Service Law.
Preferred Qualifications: Experience utilizing Statewide Financial System (SFS). Knowledge of OSC's Guide to Financial Operations (GFO) and NYS Travel rules.
Duties Description This position will report to the Section Head in the Bureau's Travel Unit coordinating the management of all employee expense report processing for all DOH program areas. Duties include, but are not limited to: Supervision of Travel Unit staff, review and approval of Travel card applications; ensure travelers are adhering to all employee expense policies outlined by the Office of State Comptroller (OSC) and Department of Health specific travel policies; monitor travel data for non-compliance and perform escalation and enforcement process; update travel policies and procedures; disseminate travel guidelines and provide guidance and training on travel related issues; problem solving of expense report processing issues; provide assistance or training to travelers and assist supervisor with other related tasks as necessary.
Additional Comments The tasks performed in this position require current computer skills (e.g. knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel) and excellent interpersonal, organizational and communication skills.
For new State employees appointed to graded positions, the annual salary is the hiring rate (beginning of the Salary Range) of the position. Promotion salaries are calculated by the NYS Office of the State Comptroller in accordance with NYS Civil Service Law, OSC Payroll rules and regulations and negotiated union contracts.
